Sam Slocombe joined 1039 (Gillingham) Squadron as a cadet in February 2007. He saw cadet service up to the rank of Corporal before leaving in March 2012. He returned to 1039 (Gillingham) Squadron as a Civilian Instructor in February 2014 and now assists with organising the squadron’s charitable activities and delivering basic training to junior cadets.

Outside of the RAF Air Cadets, Mr Slocombe is a private tutor in science.

Mr Slocombe says “I have a lifelong interest in aviation which attracted me to the RAF Air Cadets as a teenager. Now I am an adult volunteer, I enjoy passing my knowledge onto the next generation of cadets.”
